UPDATE 2.50.3

Released: 2026-01-16

Recommended for all users

WHAT'S NEW:

Improved timekeeping accuracy, continuous always-on backlight, better Blackout Mode, digital display longevity improvements.

UPDATE DETAILS:

1. Improved Timekeeping Accuracy

Some customers reported their clock running fast. This update addresses that issue:

  • Fixed a bug that caused some units to gain time

  • Improved timekeeping logic to ensure all clocks perform as expected, within ±30 seconds per month

2. Continuous “Always-On” Backlight

Based on popular demand, the backlight can now stay on continuously:

  • To switch to Continuous Backlight, press and hold the rear brightness knob for 2 seconds

  • Backlight on/off is still controlled using the snooze bar (press once to turn on, press once to turn off)

  • Backlight brightness options have been expanded from 3 levels to 5, adding two dimmer settings for overnight use

  • If you prefer the previous behavior, you can switch back to the legacy Momentary Backlight by pressing and holding the rear brightness knob for 2 seconds

3. Better Blackout Mode

For people who prefer a truly dark bedroom, Blackout Mode is essential. Some users told us it was inconvenient that a quick press of the snooze bar at night, just to illuminate the clock face and check the time, would also cancel Blackout Mode and require it to be re-enabled. This update makes Blackout Mode more intuitive:

  • Pressing the snooze bar will no longer cancel Blackout Mode

  • Pressing the front knob still exits Blackout Mode, just as before

4. Digital Display Longevity

This update includes refinements designed to help protect the display over long-term, everyday use:

  • The display now dims automatically after 10 seconds of inactivity, reducing unnecessary pixel wear and tear when the clock is not actively being used

  • Display brightness is now automatically managed using two simple states: Active (bright) and Inactive (dim)

  • The dim state matches the previous lowest brightness setting and remains easy to see in a dark room

  • This allows you to check alarm status at a glance without pressing any buttons, while helping preserve long-term display quality
