Nanu was born out of a long-standing love for physical product design and a fascination with how certain objects make people feel. But as society encourages a disposable lifestyle, products refresh faster to drive repeat purchases. Nanu exists to defy this trend. As designers, we find there’s no better reward than when our product has a presence in someone’s day-to-day.
Finally, on a personal note, Hanna (our sleepy leader) battles chronic insomnia. What better guinea pig for designing an alarm clock than someone who sleeps only 3 hours a night? While developing Arc, we learned the best practices for working through insomnia via her CBT-i programs (cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia). While an alarm clock won’t fix all your sleep issues, getting your cell phone out of the bedroom is one of the most significant steps to improve your sleep hygiene.
